Spearheaded by the Office of Mayor Thomas Menino and with non-profit, corporate, and community partners, the Coalition has provided low and moderate income taxpayers with free financial services since 2001. From January to April, we provide free tax preparation at twenty-five volunteer-staffed locations around Boston.

The Boston EITC Coalition is committed to serving the financial health of Boston residents, with a number of asset development and financial education programs as well as through free tax preparation. The Campaign is pleased to announce the newest of these programs will be starting on October 19th, 2009: Strengthen Your Financial Future. At three of the Coalition's busiest tax sites, Codman Square Technical Center, the Roxbury Resource Center, and ABCD's Tremont Street location, you can now receive in-depth individual financial coaching sessions around credit advising, budgeting, banking information, benefits screening, and referral assistance. Click here more information on hours and locations (or how to volunteer as a financial coach).

NOTE: Massachusetts residents are now required to demonstrate proof of health insurance coverage on their state tax returns. The best way to prove that you have coverage is to bring your form 1099 HC when visiting our free tax sites. Your health insurance provider will mail you a 1099 HC that will show a receipt for every month that you are covered in 2009.

For more details on the law, your options, and how to sign up for affordable health care, please visit the Massachusetts Health Connector.
