Gina Kamentsky       
Animator, toy designer, sculptor and teacher, Pixeltoons

Gina Kamentsky; animator, toy designer, sculptor and teacher has spent most of her life creating objects and media for the amusement of children and adults. During her career as a toy and game inventor she developed a worldwide reputation creating products for companies including Hasbro, Mattel, Milton Bradley, Fisher Price and Parker Brothers . In 1998 she collaborated with MIT Media Lab and Lego toys investigating computational toy concepts.

In 1999 she started animation studio, Pixeltoon and has directed numerous animation projects including a series with actress Karyn Parsons for the company Sweet Blackberry. Their first DVD, "The Journey of Henry Box Brown" narrated by Alfre Woodard was selected for a Parents' Choice Award in 2006 by the Parent's Choice Foundation. Her independent animation work has been included in many festivals including Animatu in Beja Portugal, Outfest in Los Angeles, and The Short Shorts Film Festival in Tokyo Japan. Her work combines a background in traditional animation techniques with extensive knowledge of digital production methods and software including Flash, After Effects, Toon Boom and interactive projects using Flash Action Script 2.0.

Along with her animation work , Ms. Kamentsky is a design instructor at Massachusetts College of Art and produces playful kinetic sculpture work which has been exhibited internationally and will be featured in a one woman show at the Fuller Museum in Massachusetts in 2008.
