Volunteer Opportunites

Join the more than three hundred tax preparers who worked at Coalition sites during the 2010 tax season!

All sites need:

Tax Preparers: After receiving training and becoming an IRS-certified VITA volunteer, prepare basic tax returns for Boston residents at one of 22 neighborhood sites. Contact Matt Lewis, at matthew.lewis.jcs@cityofboston.gov or call 617.918.6562 for more information.

Intake Screeners: Manage the flow of the tax site by handing out forms, answering basic questions, and directing taxpayers to the next available tax preparer. For more information, contact Matt Lewis at matthew.lewis.jcs@cityofboston.gov, or call 617.918.5362.


Some sites need:

Credit Advisors: Assist taxpayers in accessing and analyzing their credit reports. For more information, contact Joanne Evans, who manages our Credit Advising Program, at joanne.evans.jcs@cityofboston.gov, or call 617.918.5364.
