ONEin3 announces 2014 Impact Award Honorees

Twenty Bostonians under the age of 35 will be honored for their positive contributions to the community

BOSTON – The 2014 ONEin3 Mayor’s Council today announced the twenty honorees for the 2014 Impact Awards (#ONEin3Impact) to be celebrated at a ceremony Thursday, September 25th at 7:00pm at MassChallenge.

“The Impact Awards highlight the contributions of young professionals in Boston that are making a difference in their communities, particularly in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math, which have a long tradition in the city,” said ONEin3 Council Member Lee Glandorf.  

Nominated by their peers, winners were determined by a committee comprised of a diverse group of ONEin3 Council Members and community leaders.  Honorees will receive a personalized and framed certificate of recognition from the City of Boston, signed by Mayor Martin J. Walsh, in appreciation of their contribution and dedication to positively shaping the future of Boston.

The awards ceremony will feature a film in which four finalists will pitch their respective causes, and the evening will conclude with attendees voting to select the 2014 ONEin3 Impact Award Winner.  Finalists will be selected based on the scope of their community efforts, accomplishments to date, and commitment to improving Boston in the future.  The winner will receive a donation to their organization and a trophy from the City of Boston.  The twenty honorees from which the finalists will be selected are listed below.

The Awards Ceremony will include presentations from Mayor Walsh’s Chief of Staff, Dan Koh, ONEin3, and MassChallenge.  Greg Gomer, Co-Founder of BostInno, will be the master of ceremonies.  Tickets are available online, and guests are encouraged to make a small donation to support the winning organization.  Guests will enjoy an open bar with beer and wine and small plates courtesy of the Lyon’s Group.
