ONEin3 Spotlight: Arts Connect International

Sep 26, 2014

Twenty-seven year old Marian Brown cultivates and connects leaders in the arts who are committed to cultural inclusion and social equity.  Marian launched Arts Connect International (ACI) in 2013 to encourage artists to use their talent for sustained social change, utilizing art as a catalyst to conversations focused on cultural inclusion on a national and international scale.

In addition to ACI’s Artist-in-Residence and Rising Artist programs, ACI provides training to support the development of artist leaders in becoming long-term community-based change agents.  The long term vision of ACI is to build the global inclusion movement through democratizing art, building a community of collaborative artist leaders.

A New York native, Marian came to Boston in 2011 to attend the Harvard Graduate School for Education and instantly fell in love.

“I call Boston home because I see it as an innovation hub that promises a bright future for the cultural and social life of its community,” says Marian.  “It’s a community in which social justice is a pivotal focus, and where the arts are highly regarded.”

If you would like to learn more about ACI, attend their launch party on October 9th.  You can expect an amazing evening full of art, entertainment, libations and fun.  Admission is free but RSVP is required.  Find more details here.
