Director Golden and staff tidy up Shipyard Park in the Navy Yard

Sep 01, 2015

Taking advantage of the nice summer weather, BRA Director Brian Golden and staff opted for clean-up clothes instead of their usual suits on a recent visit to Shipyard Park in the Charlestown Navy Yard. The BRA operates and maintains the park where staff gathered last Thursday, with help from the Facilities Management and Maintenance Department, for the clean-up effort.

Director Golden would like to thank everyone who rolled up their sleeves to get the job done, including Dick Mulligan, Ed McGuire, Phil Cohen, Frank Mayo, Paul Myers, Maasai Mathis, Frank Lopes, Bonnie Rosario, and Sam Cardoza, Sr.

Here are some photos of the crew in action!

Ed McGuire and Phil Cohen, both project managers on the development review team, get rid of some pesky weeds.

Director Golden attacks some weeds of his own.

Taking his cues from the director, Phil carefully approaches his next target.

Maasai Mathis of the facilities division arrives to deliver reinforcements for the clean-up crew.

Frank Mayo, a maintenance mechanic, tends to the area around the fountain in Shipyard Park.

Paul Myers (pictured at left) lends Director Golden a hand. Paul, a summer intern in the Navy Yard, is a resident of Charlestown and will return this week to the University of New Hampshire for his senior year. We thank him for all his hard work this summer and wish him the best of luck at school.

Frank Lopes of the facilities team tidies up one of the seating areas in the park.

Ed McGuire shows you can have some fun while cleaning. We’re pretty sure you should point that thing at the ground though.
