Mayor Walsh appoints Quoc Tran to BIDFA Board of Directors

Mayor Martin J. Walsh recently appointed Quoc M. Tran, Esq. to the Boston Industrial Development Financing Authority (BIDFA) board of directors. BIDFA promotes economic growth and employment in the City of Boston by issuing bonds that finance the capital needs of Boston’s businesses and institutions. The board of directors, made up of Boston residents with professional expertise in real estate development, finance and more warmly welcomes Quoc Tran to BIDFA.

Tran, a civil rights attorney, brings over 25 years of experience to the BIDFA board. Tran’s experience in civil rights investigation, litigation, agency management, program and policy development, diversity and inclusion strategies, equal employment and affirmative action compliance, and employee relations is a unique and important addition to the BIDFA board.

In addition to 15 years of managing public, private, and non-profit organizations, Tran has also participated in agency reorganization efforts, workforce realignment, and working to revision budgeting. Tran has also implemented collaborative initiatives with like-minded agencies, consolidated multi-agency functions for cost cutting and effectiveness, and worked with City, State, and Federal agencies for financial and operational support.
Tran’s appointment is effective immediately. He joins the following directors, also appointed by Mayor Walsh:
  • Roxann Cooke, who joined the BIDFA board in December 2015, is a senior vice president and regional manager at Eastern Bank with over 20 years of banking experience. Cooke oversees 17 bank branches in the Boston, Cambridge, and MetroWest markets. After joining Eastern Bank in 2009 as a branch manager, Cooke successfully increased the bank’s market share in the Lynn and Dorchester market areas before being promoted to regional manager in 2014.
  • James H. Greene represents clients in real estate development and permitting, with an emphasis on zoning, subdivision, environmental review, and Chapter 121A urban redevelopment projects.
  • Katherine Kottaridis, the executive director of Historic Boston, Inc., has experience with economic and business development, working with the City of Boston over the course of her career.
  • Scott Bosworth, chief strategy officer of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, works to drive institutional change and innovation, foster a customer-centric culture, and lead key strategic initiatives across MassDOT.
