Parcel 7 is an ideal public market site located between the city's financial district and North Station. The building contains 325 rooftop parking spaces, and features direct access to the MBTA's Haymarket Station, which is served by both the Green and Orange Lines. The permanent, year-round market will fill the 28,000 square-foot first floor of 136 Blackstone Street. Vendors will begin selling their goods in an outdoor plaza along the Rose Kennedy Greenway in the spring of 2015, and the indoor market is expected to open later in the year. Once complete, it will host about 40 vendors selling a wide array of local products ranging from farmer's market produce to dry goods, books, candles and culinary tools. The market also includes space for a demonstration kitchen, where chefs can host cooking classes, and a 3,000 square foot restaurant facing the Greenway.
